Why You Should Invest in Langley
When an individual with intellectual disabilities is a child, he or she receives support and services from the county. There are special programs, classes, job training and other types of assistance. However, once that person turns 22, many of these programs then cease. Now either the individuals themselves or their families must seek employment opportunities in a world where they will be placed at the bottom of the pay scale. They must also find transportation to the jobs, as well as to the doctor, dentist and market as many will be denied driver’s licenses. They live in communities where they cannot afford housing, so where do they live? As they age, so do their parents who may themselves need assisted living. And of course, their parents grow old and die. What happens to the individual with the intellectual disabilities? Who is there for them now?

This is why Langley Residential Support Services started and needs support from the surrounding community. Langley’s goal is to reach out to every individual who needs assistance. In order to do so, Langley needs your help. A contribution of your time or your financial resources is invaluable. In assisting Langley to help people gain independence, self-confidence and an integrated presence in the community, you become a partner in Langley's mission -- enabling individuals with intellectual disabilities to live productive lives in the community. Below are ways you can get involved.
